Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Residency
How to Apply
Applicants
General psychiatry residents may apply during their third year of training in order to begin child and adolescent psychiatry in the fourth post-graduate year. Candidates who have completed four years of general psychiatry training are also welcomed to apply.
Selection Process
Selection of residents is based on the content of the application, letters of recommendation, and a day of interviews with residents and faculty of the program. The interviews provide an opportunity for the candidates to gain further knowledge of the training program and the institutional resources and allow the faculty to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate. Psychological mindedness, character, demonstrated interest in child and adolescent psychiatry, interpersonal skills and communication skills are taken into consideration.
Application Process
Starting in 2014 we are accepting applications via ERAS. We require 3 letters of recommendation, one of which needs to be from your training director plus two additional letters. All applicants must meet the basic ACGME criteria for entry into a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program.
