Visiting Medical Student Policy

Hartford Hospital has a major affiliation with the University of Connecticut Health Center for undergraduate and graduate medical education. Electives at Hartford Hospital and the Institute of Living are organized through the University of Connecticut. For more information, please visit https://medicine.uconn.edu/visiting-students, or contact the UConn VSLO Coordinator, Aileen Posso, at visitingmed@uchc.edu.

U.S. MEDICAL STUDENTS
We currently accept visiting students enrolled in U.S. (LCME-approved) medical and osteopathic schools (AOA-approved). Visiting medical students can apply through the VSLO system (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities). Electives are dependent on availability of the rotation. You’ll be notified through VSLO once a decision is made regarding your application.

INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL STUDENTS
Unfortunately, Hartford Hospital/Institute of Living does not accept international students or U.S. students attending international schools for rotations at this time.
