Our emphasis is on large-scale, multi-domain quantitative research projects that examine major mental disorders, addictive processes and normal aging from the viewpoint of analysis of brain structure and function, from a genetic perspective.
The lab performs research in the translational neuroscience of major mental illness and addictions including obesity and subsumes multiple currently NIH funded projects including B-SNIP, NIDA Translational Neuroscience of Marijuana-intoxicated driving, Dr. John Krystal‘s NIAAA – funded center for the Translational Research of Alcoholism that assesses glutamate mechanisms of alcoholism risk, and an NHTSA contract looking at roadside testing of marijuana-intoxicated drivers.
