Mental Health in Independent School Communities

MHISC is a consultation service designed to meet the unique needs of independent schools.

The consultation is based on a comprehensive model for mental health that evolved from an analysis of the mental health service needs of independent schools. MHISC consultations enable schools to maximize the wellness of their communities.

Peter H. Wells, Ph.D has worked in independent schools for over forty years, as a teacher, department head, head of upper school, college counselor, admissions director, dean of students, and for the last two decades as a nationally certified school psychologist. His work as a psychologist has been concerned not only with counseling individuals but with the mental and physical health of a whole school community. That community health interest has led to five student health surveys and application of the results to community dialogue and action.
