Kelly received her BS in Psychology from High Point University in 2022. During her time as an undergraduate, her research was primarily focused on examining non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic and pain catastrophizing as a possible protective factor against borderline personality disorder symptomology. She was also involved in a study exploring the correlation between anger and NSSI that implemented the use of the Cold Pressor Task. Her experience in psychiatry expanded post-bachelor’s, working as a nursing aid/technician in an inpatient adult psychiatric unit. Her duties included tending to needs of clients with highly acute psychiatric disorders, de-escalating crisis situations, and implementing therapeutic interventions. She joined the Olin Center in March of 2024, where she began work on an interventional study examining the executive working memory of adolescents with ADHD. Kelly aspires to obtain a PhD in clinical psychology with the goal of promoting patient-centered care in her practice, and eventually moving on to teach at a reputable academic institution.
