Changes in Brain Function through Repeated Emotion Regulation Training

This Study examines how increasing mastery of emotion regulation skills through guided practice may change brain function.

Study participation includes a clinical interview, questionnaires, training in emotion regulation techniques, and two fMRI brain scans.

Who Can participate? Participants must be…
  • Between the ages of 18-50
  • Right-handed
  • Have mild to moderate levels of depression OR no current psychiatric disorder
  • Not currently taking any psychotropic medications
  • Participation consists of 2 study visits, which will include fMRI brain scans to complete all procedures.
  • In-between study visits participants complete 6 guided emotion regulation practice sessions at home (laptop provided).
  • Each brain scan study visit lasts 3-4 hours.
  • All information collected is kept confidential.

  • Compensation is $20.00 per hour for completion of brain scan study visits.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience using empirically validated emotional regulation skills from the comfort of your home
