Non-Invasive Brain Wave (EEG) Study

Recruiting Adults with an Anxiety Disorder and Adults with no Current or Past Psychiatric Disorders

The Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital is conducting a study to learn how breathing rate is related to biological responses, anxiety, and brain activity. Participants will complete an interview with a clinician, computer and rapid breathing tasks, and several questionnaires. Brain activity is recorded using electroencephalography (EEG) and physiological responses, such as heart rate and exhaled breath, are also recorded. Study participation involves a single visit and takes up to 3 hours. Participants will receive a $75 gift card for completing the study.
